The documentary “7 Summits” by Dimitris Polydoropoulos, featuring an original score by Manos Markantonis, is an Official Selection of the 23rd San Francisco Greek Film Festival (SFGFF). As the first and longest-running Greek film festival in the USA, it takes place annually in California with the mission of promoting Greek creators on the international stage.

Two Greek alpinists, Vanessa Archontidou and Christina Flampouri, conquer the Seven Summits – the highest peak on each continent. Through this achievement, they become the first Greek women to reach Everest, the highest peak on Earth.

Manos Markantonis was commissioned to compose and produce the music for the titles of the 16-episode documentary series entitled “Diaspora – Communities – Benefactors: From me to we” – created to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution – for the state-owned public radio and television broadcaster of Greece (ERT). As part of the project, the composer also contributed as a music curator.
